Talètha Terri - Care Centre

We impact the purpose and destiny of women in crisis by helping them to shape their futures.

Unplanned pregnancies, abortion and abuse are realities in Potchefstroom. For too long woman and children in Potchefstroom faced certain crises alone and felt that they had nowhere or no one to turn to. Most women and children faced with those realities are desperate for support, guidance and information that will enable them to take informed decisions. Talètha Terri Care Centre was established to reach out to those woman and children in need and to offer them unconditional love and support to overcome the crisis in their lives. We are part of a bigger support network as such we are affiliated to Africa Cares for Life, Focus on the Family and Heartbeat International.

Who is STOP and what do we do?

STOP, which stands for ‘Stop Trafficking of People’, is a non-profit alliance of like-hearted representatives from organisations that are actively involved in the fight against trafficking.

The key objectives of STOP are to:

• Raise awareness of human trafficking in South Africa, particularly among those most at risk;

• Mobilise the public, starting with the church, to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves;

• Mobilise the public to assist victims; and

• Mobilise the public to address the root causes of human trafficking.

We intend to leverage the opportunities presented by the 2010 World Cup in South Africa to do this work. By partnering with other organisations in SA and abroad, joining forces and sharing resources, we believe it is possible to have a lasting impact. Visit our website at

School Sanitation Program: User Education Program

The initial concept of providing user education to accompany the construction of Enviro Loo sanitation facilities at schools was born many years ago, since not many of the facilities are operated and maintained on a sustainable basis due to lack of knowledge about the systems.

Hope for Children

The project Hope For Children was piloted in 2004 by our city Polokwane’s business men and women who identified the need for emotional nurturing of children in Polokwane’s children institutions.

The need for specialized foster homes was identified as the project developed.

Itireleng Community Creche

Itireleng Community Crèche is a Social Development subsidised pre-school, but no funds have been received for the past nineteen months and the teachers are running the school from their own funds and from money that is received spasmodically from the parents of the pupils. The school has 109 children ranging in age from 4 months to 5 years. There are three trained teachers and a cook.We are endeavouring to improve the quality of life by improving the standard of education. The school is now being run on Christian values and we have purchased a Christian education programme: "Step by Step".

Isandla Usizo

Isandla Usizo is an exciting and unique broad based black economic empowerment (BEE) initiative. It is a three year curriculum which focuses on providing life coaching to previously disadvantaged children on a primary school level. The programme has the unique feature of using music and arts to drive home foundational life and business principles.

The aim of the Isandla Usizo Programme is to coach children in fundamental life principles to help them build productive lives and to shape the way in which they see themselves and their realities. If we, as adults, train up our children in the way that they should go, they will not depart from it when they are older. With this in mind every song, story and activity that forms part of this programme has been designed to achieve this goal.

For this reason, remember that together we are educating the future of South Africa. Get involved today by phoning 018 293 1118 or mail us at info@iu.co.za. For more information visit our website at www.iu.co.za

This will be made possible by the Touching Africa Development Trust vehicle, using the technologies of Foundations for Farming whilst using AGES as consultants.
Simon Lerefolo from the Barolong people is a mechanical enigineer and minister and will be involved in this process.
